Your third sentence is correct; your fourth is not. W6RU was granted to Terry Gaiser on Feb 8, 1998. Short before it was due for renewal, Mr. Gaiser decided to apply for W1TG, a callsign with his initials. He was granted W1TG on Jan 23, 2008, but a month later (Feb 20, 2008), had "buyer's remorse" and reapplied for W6RU as a "former holder".
