I don't think that can be right. If it was then all the information in "panning for gold" would be wrong.
I found that the holder of N4ED was dead. I found all the information on a genealogy site, got a copy then filed a help ticket with FCC to have the call cancelled. I waited and watched the FCC site every day til it was cancelled then filed my app.
As of this morning mine is the only app filed for that call on 4/1/2008.
According to the "Panning for gold" procedure on this web site I should get the call.
I know there is a 2 year wait for "expired" calls.
