You can apply for any vanity call that is available within your license class, using any of the call areas that are not restricted by address.

You MUST keep an American address for your FCC license, i.e. no address outside of the U.S. can be used. Make sure you have it going to someone that is reliable, and can forward you any correspondence that the FCC sends you (but throws away the junk mail you will receive).

I have a similar situation, living here in Munich. I am using my brother's address for my U.S. license. I came here on vacation and never left, that was 31 years ago.
