It doesn't matter when they are batch processed--they're still done in groups based on the date they were received. As long as the two apps were on different business days, the first will always be processed before the second.

It doesn't matter whether you include the first call as your second choice on the second app--it won't hurt but it won't help either. Here's how it will go:

1. Your first app will process first, guaranteed. If the call you requested is available, you'll get it.

2. Then they'll process the second app. (Note that there could be lots of other apps processed in between.) If your first app was successful, then the second app will be dismissed because your current callsign at that moment (the one that was just assigned with the first app) is not the same as the current callsign on the second app. If your first app was not successful, then the second app will process normally, assigning you the requested call it lists (if IT is available).
