So here's a question a friend asked me...
(Background:)In their response to NPRM 09-209, ARRL proposed a new callsign format, and used as an example W23A. The idea is that a numeral is allowed to be the first character of the suffix of a 1x2. This would be added to the definition of Group A calls, to increase the number available.
Question: So how would we generically refer to that type of callsign? Is it really still a 1x2? Or is it something different?
I've come up with two ideas if it's "something different": either a 1xx1 or a 1x#1.
